Graceland offers shuttle services for those who are in wheelchairs or scooters by providing a shuttle with a lift (to lift the chair) for the tour only. If you bring your scooter, you will need to take a seat in the shuttle rather than remaining in the scooter due to safety concerns. Graceland does not provide a shuttle service to hotels or around the city.
All rooms that are toured in the Graceland Mansion are wheelchair accessible except for two basement rooms, which require going up and down stairs to reach them. If the guest who is in the wheelchair can walk, they will be able to leave their chair, visit both rooms, and then get back in their chair for the rest of the tour. If the guest cannot walk, there is an alternate route (instead of the stairs) to complete the house part of the tour. There are photos and a TV monitor that shows what the two basement rooms, the TV room and the pool room, look like for those guests who cannot view them in person.
All areas of Elvis Presley's Memphis are wheelchair accessible.
The Lisa Marie and Hound Dog II airplanes are not wheelchair accessible.
Graceland highly recommends that you bring your own wheelchair or scooter if at all possible. Graceland does have a limited number of wheelchairs for the mansion portion of the tour only, but these wheelchairs are on a first-come, first-served basis. Graceland does not have wheelchairs for the Elvis Presley's Memphis attractions, shops and restaurants.
Our iPad tour is fully captioned. Once you receive your iPad, you can select the caption option.
The upstairs of Graceland Mansion is not included as part of the tour. The part of Graceland we show the world on our tour is the part that Elvis showed anyone who visited him at Graceland. The upstairs was his private area. When Graceland opened, Priscilla and Lisa felt that the upstairs should remain private, that letting everyone go up there would be disrespectful and inappropriate - something the rest of our management wholeheartedly agrees with.
Along with these personal feelings is the matter of logistics. With our volume of visitors we would be required to put in an extra staircase as an exit, we'd have to do some remodeling upstairs as the hallway connecting the rooms is not large enough to accommodate crowds. This would radically alter the house and no one wants to do that. The issue of privacy and respect is also the reason that we do not publish photographs of the upstairs area. However, we do bring items from upstairs into our exhibits.
We don’t allow pets on Graceland property, but The Guest House at Graceland is pet-friendly. Visit our Guest Services section for more about possible boarding opportunities at a local vet's office.
Lost tickets cannot be replaced. You will have to purchase a new set of tickets.
