The Dinstuhl Family has been making quality candies in Memphis for five generations. Today, Rebecca Dinstuhl is at the helm and is focused on maintaining the quality that has made us successful for over 100 years, and also plans to expand the market place beyond Memphis with selected items on regional and national levels.
Dinstuhl’s prides itself on using fresh ingredients such as butter, cream, brown sugar, and rich chocolate. Each unique formula is blended in small batches by hand just as it was in 1902. As a result, Rebecca and family have been called upon to make custom products for special events and celebrities such as Elvis, Super Bowl XL, the Kentucky Derby, the NBA Finals and the Breeder’s Cup as well as being named "Best Candy Store in the South” and the makers of the “#1 Fudge in America”.
Lauren Draffin is a Memphis-based wardrobe stylist and fashion expert. She got her start after graduating with a degree in fashion and scoring a job in New York, working the wholesale side of the industry. After years working with various designers, factories and contemporary retailers, LD moved back to Memphis to spearhead ‘Styled by LD.’ Her styling services include personal shopping, merchandising, closet consulting, bridal styling and custom clothing, to name a few. Styled by LD helps her clients recognize his or her personal strengths and learn how to execute an effortless wardrobe by becoming fully comfortable in their own skin... all through the power of style!
In Spring of 2019, LD became a partner in local-based women’s brand, Beg and Borrow. She teaches ‘Intro to Fashion’ at the University of Memphis, and works with a curated assortment of local brands on creative direction and brand development projects. LD has worked with numerous local publications on fashion spreads, as well as wardrobe stylist on various production sets for tv and film.
Elizabeth Heiskell was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta where her passion for food, fun, and adventure started her culinary journey. Chef Heiskell has prepared food for such notables as the Duchess of York, Former Vice President Al Gore, Chef Thomas Keller, Priscilla Presley and the governors of Mississippi, Texas, and Arizona. As Lead Culinary Instructor at the Viking Cooking School Elizabeth has represented Viking on exclusive Silver Sea cruises through Spain, Portugal and Hawaii.
In 2011 Elizabeth moved to Oxford, Mississippi. Where, she and husband, Luke, run Woodson Ridge Farm with a little help from their three girls. She also maintains her catering company, Elizabeth Heiskell Catering, now in its twenty-second year, through which she provides delicious eats for events all over the Southeast.
Elizabeth is The Today Show Food Contributor. She has done appearances on Food Network’s The Kitchen and was a guest judge on the popular Food Network show, Chopped. Elizabeth is a Southern Living Contributing Editor.
In October of 2017 Elizabeth published her best-selling cookbook, “What Can I bring?” The following October she was asked to redo the Southern Living’s best-selling cookbook of all time, “Southern Living Parties”. It was released in October of 2018 and is set to be as treasured a cookbook as its predecessor. Elizabeth is set to release her fourth book, Come On Over, in the fall of 2020.
Alice Kerley is a Southern life + style blogger who left the lone star state for Memphis, Tennessee with her husband, little girl, & two golden retriever pups. Known for her signature Southwestern-inspired bohemian style, Alice shares a peek into her life through her fashion finds, travel diaries, home decor favorites and everyday adventures in the South & beyond.
Named as one of the South's Best Tastemakers of 2019 by Southern Living - Alice's readers resort to her for fashion + lifestyle advice as well as the best places to sip, shop & stay in various destinations around the globe. Alice has worked with numerous brands, tourism boards and fashion labels, including Draper James, Shopbop, Lucchese, Toyota, Ritz Carlton, and Texas Tourism along with publications such as Southern Living, Texas Monthly and Houstonia in both creative partnerships and brand representation.
Lisa is a lifelong Memphian and a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. While at UT, she acquired a Bachelors of Science in Forestry, a Master's degree in Forest Biology, and minor degrees in Ornamental Horticulture & Landscape Design and Wildlife Management. In March of 2019, she began as the Nursery and Market Manager at Urban Earth, bringing with her 4+ years as a garden center manager. As the Nursery Manager, she thoughtfully curates the plant inventory, including houseplants, annuals, perennials, vegetables, aquatic plants, greenery, shrubs and trees. As the Market Manager, she enjoys merchandising, creating planted indoor and outdoor containers, and designing terrariums & centerpieces. She also has a passion for the educational element offered at Urban Earth, and has begun hosting workshops and seminars. Although Lisa loves getting her hands dirty and educating customers on all things plants, she feels her most important task is ensuring customers and staff alike have a positive experience when they visit the destination garden center located in the heart of Midtown, Memphis. In addition to managing the garden center, which requires juggling various tasks and wearing multiple hats, she enjoys the outdoors, being with her dog and cat, and especially raising her two daughters.
Ivy is a Recipe Tester/Developer at Meredith Corporation’s Meredith Food Studios in Birmingham, Alabama. Outside of recipe development and testing, Ivy hosts the Southern Living digital video series, Hey Y'all, among other instructional digital videos for Meredith's food and lifestyle brands. Ivy is also the host of The Southern Living Show, a television series produced by Meredith Corporation for its local media markets all over the United States. She has passed the level one sommelier course through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Ivy has given numerous cooking and lifestyle demos throughout the Southeast, and enjoys hosting informal wine tastings and cooking lessons.
Ivy is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.S.F.C.S. in Consumer Journalism and a B.A. in Spanish. She graduated first in her class from the culinary arts program at L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and moved back south for her culinary apprenticeship at Empire State South in Atlanta, Georgia. Ivy currently resides in Birmingham with her dog, Basil.
Alexandra has worked as a published makeup artist completing looks for the Grammy parties in LA and for editorial print pieces featured in magazines. She has worked for several national makeup lines, most notably Christian Dior, and has also had a hand in the development of private label makeup brands. Alexandra believes in working with products that help to create a flawless, weightless look while working to correct the skin from within.
Tennessee native Kristin Luna got her feet wet in the travel industry by working in-house at several publishing companies in New York, including Newsweek, Time Inc. and Conde Nast, before transitioning to a freelance career. In the past 15 years, she has written more than a dozen guidebooks for Frommer's and feature articles for such magazines as Parade, Southern Living AFAR, Travel + Leisure, Newsweek, Conde Nast Traveler and Real Simple. She also works regularly works with city and state tourism boards to tell their stories through words, photos and videos via the media production company, Odinn Media, and 13-year-old blog Camels & Chocolate she runs with her husband Scott. To date, she has visited all 50 states and more than 130 countries.
Caroline Eubanks is an Atlanta-based writer and author of the award-winning guidebook This Is My South: The Essential Travel Guide to the Southern States, published by Globe Pequot Press. Her work has been published by Afar, Fodor’s, Frommer’s, USA Today, and Lonely Planet.‚Äč
She also owns the website, also called This Is My South, which is an online travel guide to the Southeast, focusing on offbeat attractions, incredible food, and overall culture. It was named the “Best Travel Blog in 2019” by the Society of American Travel Writers and she was named by Southern Living as one of the Southern Travel Bloggers to Follow.
Matt Gossett is a self-taught, Memphis-based makeup artist. He specializes in bridal, commercial fashion and looks for the everyday woman. Matt has 11 years under his belt working with brands such as Bobbi Brown, Dior and Trish McEvoy. You may have seen his work in local publications such as Southern Bride, At Home Memphis and Midsouth, RSVP, and Justine. He takes special pride in customizing the Southern woman's makeup bag to fit her needs.
Bernadette Riefer is a Memphis-based professional hair stylist and makeup artist with over 27 years of experience. After spending many years on the east coast, she relocated to the Memphis area in 2005. In 2006, Bernadette became Priscilla Presley’s personal hair stylist for her location work in Memphis.
Bernadette works at Epic Total Salon in East Memphis as a hairstylist where she specializes in creating natural and wearable looks for her clients. Bernadette also works in the production field as a hair and make up artist for print, television, and motion picture. You may have seen her work in People magazine, as well as on the Hallmark Channel, CMT, and BBC. Her work has also been featured on local and national commercials.
