Virtual Elvis Week 2020

VIRTUAL ELVIS WEEK SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Join us for our first-ever Elvis Week online fan experience on August 8-16. Virtual Elvis Week 2020 will feature past fan-favorite Elvis Week events – PLUS all-new interviews, celebrity call-outs, Best of Moments, a Facebook Live at Graceland Mansion and more.

From The Memphis Boys Salute, to An Afternoon with Elvis’ Piano Man Glen Hardin and the 2017 Ultimate Return, Virtual Elvis Week attendees will enjoy a full schedule of concerts, performances and panels pulled from the Graceland Video Archives and presented for the first time online - many never before seen in their entirety outside of those who experienced them in-person. 

Virtual Elvis Week will also offer all-new exclusive interviews with Elvis co-stars Mother Dolores Hart and Marlyn Mason; TCB Band member James Burton; former members of The Stamps Quartet Richard Sterban and Larry Strickland; bassist Norbert Putnam who recorded more than 120 songs in the studio with Elvis; Sam Thompson, Elvis’ bodyguard and the brother of Elvis’ girlfriend Linda Thompson; and Charles Stone, who worked closely with the Colonel on Elvis' tours and career. 

In addition, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the Elvis Week tradition of friendship and camaraderie through the online fan community where they can share stories, photos, video messages and more! It is the perfect place to gather together to celebrate Elvis’ life and legacy with other fans from around the world. Plus, some of our Elvis Week special guests will be stopping by Virtual Elvis Week so you never know who you might run into. 

Virtual Elvis Week will be offered through a private, closed Facebook group which will allow fans the opportunity to watch the special programming at the best time for them. All concerts, panels and other special content will be available for viewing through the end of August.

The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest made its debut at Elvis Week 2007 on the stage at the Cannon Center. This screening will take fans through the Final Round of the competition – from performances to the moment when the first-ever winner, Shawn Klush, was crowned.

Elvis Presley Enterprises has now recognized 13 Elvis tribute artists as ‘Ultimate Winners’ since the launch of the contest. A throwback to Elvis Week 2016, join us for a special event featuring TCB Band member Glen Hardin and musician Andy Childs as they share stories and music. Glen, who performed and played piano for Elvis from 1970 to 1976, has an incredible resume as a musician, songwriter and arranger - and was responsible for a large percentage of Elvis' orchestral arrangements, many of which he would stay up writing overnight because Elvis would decide he wanted to do a new song on a whim.

The showcase features guests Mac Davis, who wrote many of Elvis’ hits, such as “In the Ghetto”; Mike Stoller, who with his partner Jerry Leiber, wrote more than twenty songs recorded by Elvis, including “Jailhouse Rock,” “Loving You,” “Love Me,” and “Treat Me Nice”; and Mark James, who wrote “Suspicious Minds,” “Always on my Mind,” “Moody Blue,” among others.

Enjoy an incredible screening of our Memphis Boys Salute Concert from Elvis Week 2012. Singers Andy Childs and Terry Mike Jeffrey joined The Memphis Boys on stage for an incredible evening of music. The Memphis Boys were the legendary house band at the American Sound Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, between 1967 until it’s closing in 1972 - and this show covers music from all the amazing performers they backed, including Elvis Presley.Additional performers include the Holladay Sisters – Ginger Holladay and Mary Pederson, singer Drea Rhenee, and recording artist Scat Springs.

The Elvis Legacy Project
