My wife and I were searching for a movie to watch. She asked if I have seen Cast Away, with Tom Hanks. I had not seen the movie, so we watched it. In the opening scene Tom Hanks is in his Jeep and on the radio is Elvis. There are other times in the movie with Elvis songs. Although the movie was released in 2000, it was new to me!

In Borne,Texas there is The Cave Without A Name and when they were down in the cave, they were discusing rock formations. Shane McAuliffe says "you know what that looks like to me?......Elvis' hair. You have to see the picture.
I was watching the new Lifetime movie Patsy & Loretta which is about the friendship between Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn and Elvis was mentioned twice. Loretta’s daughter tells her there is a new Elvis picture coming out and asks if they can go. Loretta says yes. Later, Patsy invites Loretta to join her on a gig. Loretta declines, saying she promised to take her daughter to the new Elvis movie!
My husband & I were on our way to Pensacola Beach,Florida and he wanted to stop off in Montgomery,Ala and try Chris's Famous Hotdogs out and look what I was Sitting under! Apparently Elvis had asked around for the best place to get a good hot dog and he ordered 200 hotdogs for his crew to be sent over to his Double Tree / Hilton where he was staying following his concert
I visited the locally owned coffee shop in my hometown of Graham NC yesterday. I had a yummy Elvis Bar which was made of vegan chocolate, peanut butter and banana. It was yummy - just like the man himself💙🙂
I had to make a call to the company called My Pillow about my item.
While on hold they played Elvis singing "Amazing Grace." When the song ended they just started it all over. I sure didn’t mind waiting.
My daughter Lisa-Marie & her son Christopher went to the Seafood Festival at Lido Beach Town Park with his classmates. Lisa sent me a photo of Chris & his friends, and in the background was the Fun house with a huge photo of Elvis on the front of the building!! My daughter didn’t even realize Elvis photobombed her picture!!
Country performer, Bob Wills on stage moves in the late 1930’s compared to Elvis’s later moves on The Indy Public Station WFYI special Country Music, the history of country music, September 16, 2019.
We were cruising on our cricket looking at hot rods & going to dinner & look what I saw! Elvis! The whole bike tells a story! Everywhere I looked on the bike was another detail! I was so excited! I wish it would let me add the other pics ..taking care of business at the Rod run
Tha quote of the week on the editorial page was from Elvis! This was the 9/10/19 weekly issue of The Current, Carmel, IN
Very cool and “current’.
In a 2018 DCI Banks book by Peter Robinson, I came across the following:
“She picked up a mug off the counter, noticing that it had a picture of Elvis Presley on it.”
The book is an English mystery, set in Yorkshire in the present.
The headline read:
THE KING OF SIN CITY
How Elvis took the crown from Sinatra and turned gambling Mecca into Disney with Showgirls.
My boyfriend Ricky and I went to Duluth Grill for breakfast while on vacation in Duluth Minnesota and saw they have a "Healthy Elvis" smoothie. Of course it consists of peanut butter and banana. It was very good! Got us more excited about our first trip to Graceland coming up in August with his mother Donna. Visiting Graceland is on her bucket list!
The Waterfront Depot restaurant is actually the small charming historic Southern Pacific Railroad Depot now placed on the waterfront in downtown Florence. Quaint setting, water view of the Siuslaw River joinng the Pacific, delicious food and a place we love to take the hour drive to eat. This was an anniversary dinner.
As you walk in and up the two stairs to the hostess table/desk, directly above is a large photo portrait of young Elvis, probably early 20's. I asked the waitress "What's the story behind the Elvis picture?" She replied "The owner did all the decorations!", I followed up asking, "Why Elvis? She responded with a sweet grin..."Because she LOVES him!".....What song lyric played over and over in my mind that evening...."The lady loves me!" (From his duet with Ann Margaret)
It's a must visit for all Elvis fans traveling the central coast of Oregon!!!
I was watching an episode of Jeopardy at lunch. One category was "1958" and I told my husband that one answer would be Elvis. Sure enough, the first clue was a picture of Elvis in his army uniform and the clue was "he was inducted, not into the rock 'n roll hall of fame, but into the army".
Later that day, we were watching the new Best Ever Trivia Show and there was the question "what is one of hte features in the Jungle Room of Elvis Presley's Graceland?". Sadly, only 1 of the 3 contestants knew is was an indoor waterfall.
I should not have been surprised (after all, Cooper Presley was one of the main characters, one of 5 Presley brothers) but just over halfway through Debra Clopton's Charmed by the Cowboy book a huge smile came to my face when our man Elvis was mentioned. Cooper took over tilling the garden spot for Beth when her tiller became unruly. As the tiller was giving him fits, Beth said from behind him, "Put some weight behind it. And from back here, you're giving Elvis a run for his money on shaking your lower half. There is definitely a whole lot of shaking going on."
He chuckled and replied to her, "I'll have to do my Elvis impersonaltion after I turn this thing off. But right now I've got a challenge to win and a beast to tame."
"Fine with me. I'm rooting you on. Go, Elvis, go."
Elvis played Auburn University May 5, 1974 in the Beard -Eave's Memorial Coliseum. Colonol Parker said "Auburn was as important to Elvis as New York City." There is even a YouTube clip of Elvis saying "War Eagle." As an Alabama fan, this creates a great conflict of interest for me. Thought it was cool that Ali was in this picture since Graceland now has an exhibit for him too.
Recently visited Charlotte, NC and stayed at the Hawthorne Suites By Wyndham. Sitting on a table in the lobby was a picture of Elvis and Johnny Cash. Sorry the photo didn’t appear to well on this post. Visiting Graceland is on my bucket list and a dream of mine someday. Love and listen to the Elvis station all the time on Sirrus. He was a wonderful loving person and gone from us way too soon.
