As we gear up to celebrate 60 Years of Rock 'n' Roll here in Memphis, takes an in depth look at Elvis' historic recording on July 5, 1954, and highlights the events taking place in the city where rock 'n' roll was born.

"The explosion of rock ‘n’ roll as a cultural force was ignited 60 years ago this week, on a hot day in Memphis when a truck driver named Elvis Presley was called to a recording session by producer Sam Phillips, the savvy owner of Memphis Recording Studio."

From the landmark moment in music history to the days following, the recording of "Thats All Right" broke down racial barriers and brought a new wave of music to the forefront.
