Top Ten Finalists Announced in the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest

Congratulations to the top ten finalist in the 2014 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest! They are listed below in no particular order. These top ten finalists will compete for the title of 2014 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist on Thursday, August 14, at 7:00 p.m. The group will be narrowed down to the top five, before the ultimate winner of the contest is announced. The winner will receive a contract to perform with Legends in Concert, the 2014 Ultimate ETA Contest belt, designed by B&K Enterprises and a cash prize of $20,000. Learn more about the final contestants who will compete for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist title by tuning into our Livestream taking place August 13, at 1:00 p.m.

Kevin Mills

Winner of Hard Rock's Last Chance Ultimate ETA Contest

As a teenager, Kevin loved Elvis' music and felt Elvis was the natural choice for him to emulate. Elvis' many genres provide Kevin with a never ending challenge. Kevin says it's an honor to be a part of the Ultimate ETA Contest and to be able to compete in Memphis where Elvis called home. His favorite Elvis song is "Bridge Over Troubled Water."

Glenn Bowles

Winner for Harrah’s Cherokee Ultimate ETA Contest

Glenn has been working as a tribute artist since 1978, when he was given a chance to perform as Elvis at a local amusement park. Since 1990, he has toured with The Van-Dells performing hits of the rock ‘n’ roll era, as well as performing his tribute to Elvis as part of the show. He has been an Elvis fan for as long has he can remember and feels blessed that he was able to see Elvis perform live three times. His favorite Elvis song is “Just Pretend.”

Ben Thompson

Winner of the Tupelo Elvis Festival

From a young age, Ben Thompson has been a committed Elvis fan and has always loved listening, watching and learning about Elvis. Ben first performed his tribute to Elvis at his local town festival in south London. He has been an Elvis tribute artist since 2009, winning Europe’s Tribute to Elvis in 2013 and placing in the top five finalists during the 2013 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. His favorite Elvis song is “Hurt.”

Jay Dupuis

Winner of Horseshoe Council Bluffs Ultimate ETA Contest

Jay Dupuis was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At the age of three, he realized his love for the King of Rock 'n' Roll. As a child, he would dress up in white pants and a shirt, flip up his collar and pretend he was Elvis. With the help and support of his family and friends, he was able to pursue his dream of performing as an Elvis tribute artist. Jay considers performing a true blessing and considers it a great honor to pay tribute to the greatest entertainer of all time. Jay's favorite Elvis song is "Suspicious Minds." 

David Allen

Winner of the Branson Elvis Festival *

David Allen was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and began performing Elvis songs at 14 years old. Among his accomplishments as a tribute artist, Allen has performed for Legends Concert Myrtle Beach. Allen's biggest inspiration to become an Elvis tribute artist was his father and considers it a dream come true to be competing for the third time. David's favorite Elvis song is "If I Can Dream."

*First place winner for Branson was David Lee, who has already qualified as a 2014 semifinalist.

Travis Powell

Winner of the 2nd Annual Elvis at AutoFair

Travis' tribute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll is reflective of his calm and easy going personality. He personifies to be at the peak of his performance career in 1969 and the early 1970's, portraying a smooth confident man who performed for himself and his hordes of screaming fans, reaching stardom already achieved. Travis became an Elvis fan at four years old by watching Elvis' "Aloha from Hawaii" and performing the concert for his family. Being apart of the contest means a great deal to Travis and shows his passion and respect for Elvis, his music and his memory, allowing him to pay a heartfelt tribute. His favorite Elvis song is "My Way" because listening to the lyrics tells the story of his life.

David Lee

Winner of the Georgia Elvis Festival

David Lee’s tremendous respect for Elvis’s music turned into a dream career; sharing the love of Elvis with fans of all ages. He pours his heart and soul into every show hoping you will feel a taste of what it was like to watch Elvis. Elvis is gone and irreplaceable but David Lee’s tribute hopes to do him justice. David says it is an honor to be included in such a prestigious event. David's favorite Elvis song is "Promise Land."

Michael Chambliss

Winner of the Poconos Elvis Fest

Being able to perform in the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest is a dream come true for Michael, who began his tribute career as a backup singer on one night in Pigeon Forge, TN. It was that night, when those who heard him sing, encouraged him to become a tribute artist. Michael says that his only hope is to pay the best tribute possible to the Elvis Presley. Michael's favorite Elvis song is "Wonder of You."

Ted Torres

Winner of the South Carolina Elvis Festival

Ted Torres is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, actor, and musician from Orlando,Florida. Growing up in a family with two professional musicians as parents influenced Ted a great deal to choose this path. Elvis Presley has also been a great influence in his musical career. Ted has the magnetism, appearance, and voice to bring back all the memories from the 50′s, 60′s, and 70′s when Elvis performed. As an Elvis fan himself,Ted enjoys helping the fans relive the years when a poor boy from Tupelo Mississippi conquered the world with his music!

Gordon Hendricks

Winner of the Tweed Tribute to Elvis Festival

Gordon has been a fan of Elvis since he was young and his love of Elvis has continued to grow over time. He currently performs as an Elvis tribute artist in England and has been doing so for over 15 years. He is passionate about keeping Elvis’ music alive. He is very proud to be able to represent Tweed in the 2014 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. His favorite Elvis song is “American Trilogy.”
