Remembering Elvis' Co-star Mary Ann Mobley

Mary Ann Mobley, Miss America 1959 and a beloved Elvis co-star, has died. She was 77.

Mobley, who starred in "Girl Happy" and "Harum Scarum," died Tuesday at her home in Beverly Hills, California, after a battle with breast cancer. She was the first Miss Mississippi to be crowned Miss America, which launched her career in acting and filmmaking. She made her television debut on "Burke's Law," and later appeared on shows such as "Falcon Crest," "Diff'rent Strokes," "Fantasy Island" and "Love Boat." She also appeared in theatrical productions of "The King and I" and "Guys and Dolls."

Mobley married fellow actor and talk show host Gary Collins in 1967, and the pair became philanthropists. She also made documentary films about the plight of homeless and starving children in Africa.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Mary Ann to Graceland several times over the years. She was always a pleasure to work with and enjoyed meeting the fans.

Here's an interview with Mary Ann during Elvis Week 2012.
