The Guest House at Graceland's Grand Opening Weekend was a weekend full of Elvis fans, Elvis movies, Conversations on Elvis and Elvis-inspired concerts.
Hundreds of Elvis fans from across the globe celebrated the hotel's Grand Opening during the weekend of October 27-30. After a ribbon cutting ceremony, guests enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer, including its restaurants and shop, as well as special events.
Three Conversations on Elvis events took place in the hotel's ballroom with guests such as Elvis' high school girlfriend Dixie Locke Emmons, his childhood friend Sam Bell, co-stars Cynthia Pepper and Marlyn Mason and guys who worked for Elvis, such as Jerry Schilling, Sam Thompson, Charles Stone and Dick Grob.
Members of the TCB Band performed at the Elvis in Vegas concert featuring Terry Mike Jeffrey, and Memphis Jones and his band rocked the house - and delivered some Memphis music and Elvis trivia. Andy Childs was joined by two of Elvis' session musicians, David Briggs and Norbert Putnam, for the Elvis Unplugged show, and Andy was joined by Terry Blackwood, Larry Strickland, Bill Baize, Donnie Sumner and Ed Hill for The Gospel Side of Elvis event on Sunday. SiriusXM Elvis Radio broadcasted live from the hotel.
The weekend also included the sixth Auction at Graceland.
