Estelle Brown will be part of the 1969 50th Anniversary Concert – Elvis Returns to Vegas and the Elvis in Vegas Panel.
Singer Estelle Brown is a member of The Sweet Inspirations and the group began performing and recording with Elvis in 1969. The group can be seen and heard on "Elvis: That's The Way It Is," "Aloha From Hawaii," "Elvis Recorded Live On Stage in Memphis" and the 2006 concert, "Elvis Lives: The 25th Anniversary Concert." The group performed and recorded with many artists, such as Dusty Springfield, Jimi Hendrix and Van Morrison. The group also recorded numerous albums and have continued to perform at Elvis-related events.
Donnie Sumner, Ed Hill and Larry Strickland will perform at the Gospel Homecoming on August 17.
One of the great names in Southern gospel, J.D. Sumner & The Stamps Quartet were Elvis' male back-up singers from 1971 to 1977. Members during the group's time spent with Elvis include: J.D. Sumner, Bill Baize, Tony Brown, Ed Enoch, Dave Rowland, Richard Sterban, Larry Strickland, Donnie Sumner, Ed Wiedman and others. J.D. Sumner & The Stamps were part of the early tours of the recent hit show Elvis Presley in Concert and continued as a group until J.D.'s death in 1998.
IN THIS SECTION
