Las Vegas Review Journal Looks at "Viva Las Vegas" Film Sites

On the eve of the 50th anniversary of "Viva Las Vegas," a new article from the Las Vegas Review Journal explores several Elvis film sites. Elvis fans can take a look back at one of the king's most beloved films and see photos of these film sites by visiting

"Surprisingly, in a town that implodes and rebuilds itself periodically like the world’s biggest Lego set, several of the filming sites remain and some are relatively unchanged," states writer F. Andrew Taylor.

Premiering May 20, 1964, "Viva Las Vegas" spotlighted a then relatively quiet Sin City and became the unofficial anthem for what is now known as one of the hottest vacation spots in the United States. Starring Elvis and actress Ann-Margret, the film is regarded as one of Elvis' best films and reached #14 in the box office in 1964.
