Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis will "Light It Up Blue" this weekend in support of World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness Month.
Saturday, April 2, is the eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day, and thousands of participants have pledged to go blue for Autism Speaks international "Light It Up Blue" campaign. Graceland will go blue April 1-3.
World Autism Awareness Day activities increase and develop world knowledge of the autism crisis and impart information regarding the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention. WAAD also celebrates the unique talents and skills of persons with autism and is a day when individuals with autism are warmly welcomed and embraced in community events around the globe.
The iconic mansion joins a list of thousands of landmarks, businesses, communities and religious institutions across the globe that will shine a bright light on autism as a growing public health crisis.
