Elvis Week 2022 will honor the 45th anniversary of Elvis’ passing and we are excited to add more events, more guests, and many more exciting reasons to be here in person this year!
Graceland is pleased to announce I Dream of Jeannie star Barbara Eden, who co-starred with Elvis in Flaming Star, will be attending. TCB Band bassist Jerry Scheff has also joined the exciting line-up of special celebrity guests who will be part of the week.
Barbara Eden will make her first-ever Elvis Week appearance on August 15 as a special guest at Conversations on Elvis, where she will share some of her favorite memories of co-starring alongside Elvis in the 1960 film “Flaming Star.” Throughout her illustrious career, Barbara Eden has starred in over 25 feature films, five network TV series, and 19 top-rated network made-for-television movies. Her iconic “I Dream of Jeannie” NBC Television series, launched in 1965, became an instant hit. In addition, Barbara is a New York Times bestselling author with her memoir, Jeannie Out of the Bottle. She most recently released her debut children’s book, Barbara And The Djinn. Barbara also guest starred on Nickelodeon’s #1 animated Pre-School series Shimmer & Shine lending her voice, for the first time, as Empress Caliana. Barbara keeps busy acting, making personal appearances, touring, participating in numerous charity events and home life, all of which are a part of her regular agenda. Photo credit: Harry Langdon Jr.
Jerry Scheff will return for the first time to Elvis Week in more than 10 years with appearances at All the King’s Men on August 13, Conversations on Elvis on August 15, and Elvis Presley in Concert on August 16. Scheff played bass guitar as part of Elvis’ TCB Band from 1969-1977. Throughout the 1960s, he worked with legendary performers such as the Everly Brothers, Nancy Sinatra, Johnny Rivers, Neil Diamond, Sammy Davis, Jr., Johnny Mathis, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among others. In 1971, Scheff recorded bass parts for the Doors' “L.A. Woman,” leading to his distinctly recognizable contribution to the hit record "Riders on the Storm." After his time with Elvis, Scheff worked with Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, and in the '70s and '80s, toured with Elvis Costello, Sam Phillips, and John Denver.
