Elvis Week Day 7 - King of the Screen and Stage

The seventh day of Elvis Week was pure sparkle and shine.

The day kicked off with Conversations on Elvis: Elvis in the Movies, a panel hosted by Tom Brown. Special guests for the event were Gary Lockwood, who starred with Elvis in "It Happened at the World's Fair" and "Wild in the Country;" Laurel Goodwin, Elvis' "Girls! Girls! Girls!" co-star; Pat Priest, who starred with Elvis in "Easy Come, Easy Go," and Marlyn Mason, Elvis' "The Trouble with Girls" co-star. They all shared funny stories and insights from the movie sets, their thoughts on Elvis' movie career and much more.

Another special guest was songwriter Randy Starr, who penned 12 tunes for Elvis movies. He also played the demo versions that were sent to Elvis, so fans could hear how Elvis put his own spin into the songs and made them his own.

The glitz and glamour of Hollywood continued into the day, as the first several events of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest began. First was the Ultimate ETA Contest Showcase, where the contestants sang a few of their favorite Elvis tracks.

At the sold-out Semifinal Round, though, the battle was on. Many of the contestants sported sparkly jumpsuits, while a few opted for shiny gold lame suits. The top 10 finalists were announced - click here to watch the Facebook Live announcement, or click here to read more about them.
