It's been 40 years since Elvis' passing, but the King of Rock 'n' Roll still fills the seats at huge arenas.
Elvis did just that last night at the FedExForum, Memphis' largest concert venue, at the Elvis: Live in Concert event. The show featured Elvis on the big screen with a live orchestra and back-up singers (the show is part of the Elvis: Live in Concert tour, which continues tonight in Atlanta. Click here to learn more about this tour). Special guests Priscilla Presley and Jerry Schilling greeted fans at the concert and thanked them for their support and love for Elvis. Graceland Holdings LLC managing partner Joel Weinshanker also addressed the crowd, and he announced a special Holiday Concert Weekend at Graceland.
Meet a few of the die-hard Elvis fans who attended the concert on today's Elvis Week Blog, written by Jon Waterhouse.
The sixth day of Elvis Week also included Conversations on Elvis: In the Studio, which featured singers and musicians discussing Elvis' studio work. Hosted by Tom Brown, the panel's special guests included Norbert Putnam, who played bass for Elvis; back-up singers Mary Holladay Pederson and Ginger Holladay, who sang with Elvis on some of his biggest hits; and Sony Music's Ernst Jorgensen, author of "A Life in Music," a definitive study of Elvis' recording sessions.
And, finally - what does Elvis mean to you? During this special Elvis Week, Tom Brown chatted with fans about what makes the king so special to them. Watch the video below:
