Elvis Week Day 2 - Going to Church

The Gospel Music of Elvis Presley Celebration Concert took place at the Soundstage at the new Elvis Presley's Memphis complex, but you could've sworn you were in a church.

Bill Baize, Donnie Sumner, Larry Stricklandand Jeff Sumner, former members of JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet, Terry Mike Jeffrey and Terry Blackwood, Darrell Toney and Lynn Royce Taylor of Terry Blackwood and The Imperials all gave powerful performances that had the crowd on its feet several times throughout the evening.  This concert, which was sold out, was the first official concert held in the Soundstage at Elvis Presley's Memphis - what a great start for the space!

Saturday's Elvis Week festivities kicked off with the Fan Club Presidents' Event, where fan clubs made their generous charitable donations, heard from Elvis' friend, Larry Geller, and got to know radio personality and author Norm Nite.

Later that day, the largest Auction at Graceland took place at The Guest House at Graceland, with bidders worldwide fighting for the chance to own pieces of pop culture and music history. Learn more about yesterday's auction here.

On today's Elvis Week Blog, Jon Waterhouse goes shopping to find the greatest pieces of Elvis memorabilia found at the shops at Elvis Presley's Memphis. Are these items on your to-buy list? Read the blog now, and also be sure to check out his Q&A with Larry Strickland.

Speaking of Elvis Presley's Memphis, get to know our new exhibit and entertainment complex by checking out the video below - Elvis Presley's Memphis By the Numbers. How many jumpsuits are on display at Elvis: The Entertainer Career Museum? How big is the Soundstage? Find out in the video below:
