The most stylish day of Elvis Week was Thursday, August 11, as the designers who helped Elvis look his best took to the Elvis Week stage and Elvis Tribute Artists donned their most dazzling jumpsuits for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinal Round.
The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinalists began and ended the day, first with the ETA Meet 'n' Greet at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Memphis. Fans snapped selfies with the Semifinalists, got their autographs and chatted them up about the contest. That night, the world's best Elvis tribute artists battled it out to advance to the Final Round - check out a list of the Top 10 Finalists.
At the Elvis Week Main Stage, fans got a better understanding of Elvis' style at Designing for the King. Jeweler Lowell Hays, who made many pieces of jewelry for Elvis and his family and friends, interior designer Bill Eubanks, who designed rooms at Graceland, and Hal Lansky of the Lansky Brothers, where Elvis purchased both casual wear and stagewear, all shared their stories of what it was like to work with Elvis. Graceland Director of Archives Angie Marchese was also on hand to discuss designer Bill Belew's jumpsuit designs and to show off a few pieces of Elvis' wardrobe.
Find out more about Elvis' style and check out a few of the most stylish fans at Elvis Week at the Graceland Blog, written by Jon Waterhouse.
Check out two Facebook Live videos we shot yesterday with Memphis Jones, Hal Lansky and Angie Marchese (pardon a few technical difficulties!).
Tune in to the Elvis Week photo gallery, as photos from yesterday's events will be added throughout the day.
