ELVIS RADIO PRESENTS TERRY MIKE JEFFREY’S TOP TEN ELVIS LAS VEGAS CONCERTS!

Thursday, April 9, 8 p.m. EST

In honor of Elvis being back in the building at the Westgate in Las Vegas, Elvis Radio presents Terry Mike Jeffrey’s Top 10 Elvis Las Vegas Concerts. Sixteen-year-old Terry Mike traveled to Vegas so he could meet Elvis back in the summer of 1969. He has selected his Top 10 Las Vegas recordings, and Big Jim Sykes counts them down right up until the Westgate's Elvis Grand Opening celebration on Thursday, April 23! Tonight's show, No. 5, is "3000 South Paradise Road."

"I saw 38 different Elvis concerts, and all but five of them were in Vegas. This CD was recorded in August of '72, and that was the month and year that I saw him the most number of times in one trip (10 concerts, two  per night for five nights). I have always thought that Elvis and his band and singers were at the absolute top of their game during 1972.  Also saw him in Little Rock and Evansville, Indiana '72 (Evansville was two days after Madison Square Garden). In August '72 at the Hilton, I heard, for the first time, several songs ("You Gave Me A Mountain," "What Now My Love"), so this was a treat.  This CD also contains an entire CD of rehearsals - great bonus," he said.

Friday Rave Up with TY

TY celebrates April 9, 1953, when a nobody became a somebody with Producer/Director/Creator Bill Bryan. The Humes High School Band presented its annual Minstrel Show at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Elvis was the 16th listed act on the bill, as "Guitarist.....Elvis Presley." Both Elvis and his classmates dated this as the beginning of his rise of fame. According to Elvis: "I wasn't popular in school. I wasn't dating anybody. And then they entered me in this talent show, and I came out and did my 'Till I Waltz Again With You' by Teresa Brewer. It was amazing how popular I became after that."
