Featuring Its Tribute Artist Contest and Special Guest DJ Fontana, Original Drummer for Elvis
Highlights Include Saturday Night VIP Dinner Benefiting Porter County Special Olympics, A Headliner Concert with Past Champions and Entertainment Throughout the Weekend
The 22nd annual Elvis Fantasy Fest returns to Portage, Indiana, Oct. 10-12 with the theme, “Red, Hot and Blue.” Elvis tribute artists will compete throughout the weekend to win the right to represent Indiana during Elvis Week, while Elvis’ original drummer, DJ Fontana, will make a special guest appearance to meet fans. The event will take places at the Woodland Park Community Center.
The event will feature two headliner shows. Dean Z, the 2013 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist, will headline Saturday evening’s show. Past champions Ted Torres and Robert Washington, along with last year’s champion, Tim E, will also perform both Friday and Saturday, as will Chicago’s premiere Neil Diamond tribute artist, Denny Diamond.
Fontana, who now holds a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will host the Saturday night VIP dinner provided by the Porter County Special Olympics.
Also appearing at the festival will be William Bryan, the producer/director of the recently released short film “Nobody.” Bryan, who hails from Chicago, filmed on location in Memphis at Humes High School, Lauderdale Courts and the famous SUN Studio to recreate a moment in time before Elvis was Elvis. This will be the first screening of the short film in northwest Indiana.
In addition, Elvis memorabilia will be available, and there will be an auction to benefit the Porter County Special Olympics. The festival, licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., donated $14,640 to the Porter County Special Olympics.
“This year’s festival is packed with entertainment and unique opportunities to celebrate fans’ love of the king,” said Jason Sherry, president of Sherry Management, LLC. “This is a rare opportunity to meet DJ Fontana, and of course, everyone looks forward to the Elvis tribute artists competing throughout the weekend.”
Some of the world’s best Elvis tribute artists will compete for the chance to represent Indiana at the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest held during Elvis Week in Memphis. Other highlights include the Elvis Gospel Music Contest Sunday, Oct. 13, and parties each night at which fans can mingle with the tribute artists.
Portage is just 30 minutes away from the Chicago area and also within easy driving distance of the Fort Wayne area. For complete information about the event and to buy tickets, call the Elvis Festival Hotline at 888-406-5885 or visit ElvisFantasyFest.com.
