Celebrate Memphis Music at Elvis Week

No city sounds like Memphis.

Celebrate Memphis' incredible musical history at A Salute to Memphis Music during Elvis Week! Gladys and Maybelle, Brad Birkedahl and Will Tucker will perform a variety of Memphis music that will make you fall in love with the city all over again. A Salute to Memphis Music is 3 p.m. Thursday, August 13 at the Elvis Week Main Stage.

Texas songbirds Gladys and Maybelle are Elvis Week alumni who perform original music as well as old-school country songs. At Salute to Memphis Music, they'll perform Elvis tunes like "Just Because" and "I Love You Because," as well as Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire."

Brad Birkedahl relocated to Memphis in the mid-90s and has performed everywhere from Beale Street to Spain and France. He's shared the stage with the likes of Carl Perkins, Wanda Jackson, James Burton, The TCB Band and DJ Fontana. He starred in "Walk the Line" as Scotty Moore. Brad will bring a fresh take on tunes like "These Arms of Mine" by Otis Redding, "Honey Don't" by Carl Perkins and Elvis' "Without Love" at the Salute to Memphis Music.

Memphis native Will Tucker was discovered at 14 by B.B. King's Blues Club's owner Tommy Peters, and he went on to open for B.B. King five times. Now 21, Will has performed with artists such as Charlie Musselwhite, G. Love and Special Sauce and The Beach Boys with John Stamos. He performs weekly at B.B. King's Blues Club on Beale Street. At the Salute, he'll perform Elvis tunes like "That's All Right" and "Mean Woman Blues."
