2019 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Finalists Announced

Congratulations to the 2019 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest finalists! 

The following top 10 finalists were named tonight at the Semifinal Round at the Soundstage at Graceland at Elvis Presley's Memphis. They will compete in the final round on Saturday, August 10. Get tickets to the final round


Cote Deonath

To Represent the Tweed Tribute to Elvis at Semifinal Round in Memphis
Cote Deonath of Ocalla, Florida, has been an Elvis tribute artist for 18 years. This is Cote's fourth time to compete in the Ultimate ETA Contest, and he says it's a dream come true to pay tribute to the man he considers to be the greatest entertainer to ever live. He would describe Elvis as "electric," and his favorite Elvis song is "Unchained Melody," because Elvis sang it with such emotion. His favorite Elvis song to perform is "Suspicious Minds."


Jake Slater 

To Represent the Elvis FANtasy Festival at Semifinal Round in Memphis
Jake Slater of Bellaire, Michigan, became an Elvis fan at the age of 6 when he heard Elvis' "(You're So Square) Baby I Don't Care." He has been an Elvis tribute artist for 10  years and has performed for audiences of all sizes. He says Elvis is his hero, and his favorite song to perform is "Baby What You Want Me To Do." His favorite Elvis song is "Baby Let's Play House."


Diogo Light 

To Represent the Ocean City Elvis Festival at Semifinal Round in Memphis
Diogo Light is from Porto Alegre, Brazil. From the time he was a small child listening to his father's Elvis records, he's been a fan. He has read extensively about Elvis' life, studying his performances and singing style. He considers it to be a great honor and blessing to pay tribute to the greatest entertainer of all time. Diogo says that being an Ultimate ETA Contest semifinalist is an honor, and that he embraces the responsibility with love and respect. He has too many favorite Elvis songs to pick just one.


Takeru Tanaka

To Represent the Elvis Tribute Artist Contest of Japan at Semifinal Round in Memphis
Takeru Tanaka has been performing his tribute to Elvis for more than 20 years in Tokyo, Japan. He became an Elvis fan in high school when he saw the documentary "Elvis on Tour." He began studying Elvis and published a book, "The Fascinating Elvis (Miwaku-no Elvis)" in 2007. He has written many articles for various Elvis fan magazines, as well as the liner notes for the Japanese release of Elvis CDs. This is Takeru’s first time to compete in the Ultimate ETA Contest, and he says it's "the impossible dream come true." His favorite Elvis songs are mostly ballads, especially songs like "Always On My Mind" and “It’s Midnight."


Al Joslin

To Represent the Nashville Elvis Festival at Semifinal Round in Memphis
Al Joslin was inspired to become an Elvis Tribute Artist after visiting Graceland when he was 17. He began performing his tribute after graduating from college and has been performing for 13 years.  Al has been impacted by Elvis and his music in such a powerful way, and it is his number one goal to give a respectful and sincere tribute to his enduring legacy.


RADNEY PENNINGTON

To Represent the Branson Elvis Festival at Semifinal Round in Memphis
Radney Pennington has been paying tribute to Elvis for several years. He was the youngest "Elvis" to perform in the musical "Million Dollar Quartet." Radney is also a singer-songwriter and the youngest person to record at Sun Studio in Memphis, having recorded there at the age of 5. He describes Elvis as "amazing" and said his favorite Elvis song is "My Happiness." His favorite Elvis song to perform is "First in Line."


Taylor Rodriguez

To Represent the Tupelo Elvis Festival at Semifinal Round in Memphis
Taylor Rodriguez, 21, of Lynchburg, Virginia, has a passion for entertaining. He was introduced to Elvis' music by his aunt, who was a lifelong Elvis fan. When Taylor was 9 years old, he began to seriously study Elvis' music and moves. In addition to being an Elvis tribute artist, Taylor enjoys writing songs, playing guitar and working with youth in his community. His favorite Elvis song is "How Great Thou Art" - a favorite of his aunt's, too - and his favorite Elvis song to perform is "The Impossible Dream."


BRUNO NESCI

To Represent the Penticton Elvis Festival at Semifinal Round in Memphis
Born and raised in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada, Bruno Nesci has been a performer for about 20 years. He became an Elvis fan as a child, and he would describe Elvis as "irreplaceable." He says he tries his best to portray Elvis in the most respectful way and he does it for the love of Elvis and to see Elvis fans smile. His favorite Elvis song is "You Gave Me a Mountain," and his favorite Elvis song to perform is "Suspicious Minds."


JACOB ROMAN

To Represent the Hollywood Star Elvis Festival in Memphis
Jacob Roman of Glendale, California, became an Elvis fan as a child and knew he wanted to grow up to pay tribute to the king. He loves making fans smile. When he's not performing, Jacob spends time with his family, plays baseball and plays the guitar. his favorite Elvis song is "Peace in the Valley," because Elvis dedicated it to his mother. His favorite Elvis song to perform is "Mean Woman Blues."


Michael cullipher

To Represent the Collingwood Elvis Festival in Memphis
Michael Cullipher of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, is a minister and member of a gospel group. He has been an Elvis fan since he was 4 years old, and he is inspired by Elvis' passion for music and love for God. He thanks God for the privilege to perform and bring back memories for fans, and he hopes to inspire future generations that will keep the music and memory of Elvis alive. His favorite Elvis song is "If I Can Dream."
