2015 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinalists

Here are the 2015 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinalists from around the world who will compete in the 2015 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinal Round during Elvis Week 2015.


One more semifinalist will be crowned at the Hard Rock Cafe's Last Chance Ultimate ETA Contest preliminary round on August 9 and will advance to the semifinal round.

Alex Swindle

To Represent Hard Rock Last Chance Ultimate ETA Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Alex Swindle, of Birmingham, Alabama, has been performing as an Elvis tribute artist for 11 years. As a child, he played both guitar and piano, and performed in the Birmingham Children's Theater. At the theater he auditioned for an Elvis-type role, and shortly after was invited to compete in his first contest - and has been performing ever since. Alex says the ability to be on the big stage with the best, paying tribute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll, is a dream come true. His favorite Elvis song is "You'll Never Walk Alone."


Kevin Mills

To Represent 13th Annual Elvis Tampa Bay Festival/Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Ever since Kevin was a teenager, he has had a love for Elvis and his music, and he felt Elvis was the natural choice for him to emulate. The many genres of Elvis’ career provide Kevin with a never ending challenge. Kevin says its an honor to be a part of the Ultimate ETA Contest and to be able to compete in Memphis, where Elvis called home. Kevin’s favorite Elvis song is “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” 


Norm Ackland, Jr.

To Represent Collingwood Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Norm Ackland, Jr., from Windsor, Canada, started paying tribute to Elvis after watching his father perform, watching Elvis movies and wearing out his favorite Elvis records. He was encouraged by family and friends to start performing more seriously, and after some success, he was hooked. Norm says being part of the contest is a surreal experience and he is very grateful for the opportunity. Norm's favorite Elvis song is "How Great Thou Art."


Jack Gatto

To Represent Viva Surfers Paradise 2015 during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Jack Gatto is from Victoria, Australia. He started listening to Elvis because his father played Elvis music around the house. Since then, Jack has been inspired to entertain others. Jack believes it's important to keep his tribute respectful and entertaining. It is a dream come true to be considered one of the top Elvis Tribute Artists in the world. His favorite Elvis song is "My Way."


Ryan Pelton

To Represent Harrah's Cherokee Resort Casino Ultimate ETA Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Ryan Pelton is from Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He was dared to enter a local Elvis contest by his mother, and though he'd never sang publicly before, Ryan won. In the following 15 years, Ryan has performed all over the world and loves being a live music entertainer. Ryan says it’s a blessing to be a part of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. His favorite Elvis song is “Pieces of My Life.”


Ricky Aron

To Represent Europe's Tribute to Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Ricky Aron from Liverpool, England, has been performing as an Elvis Tribute Artist since 2007, but he's also performed with various rock 'n' roll and rockabilly bands for the past 20 years. It's a huge honor for Ricky to be part of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. One of his favorite Elvis songs is "You'll Never Walk Alone." 


Johnny Lee Memphis

To Represent Penticton Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Johnny Lee Memphis hails from Bonnie Scotland and has been performing as his idol for fun since he was 3 years old and professionally now for four years. He feels blessed to be representing Penticton at this year's Ultimate ETA Contest in Memphis. His favorite Elvis songs include "It's Only Love" and "It's Midnight."


Brycen Katolinsky

To Represent Myrtle Beach Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Brycen Katolinsky is from St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada, and started performing at Collingwood Elvis Festival when he was just 10 years old. He says being in the contest has been a dream come true after practicing for all these years. His favorite Elvis song is "Jailhouse Rock."


Diogo Light

To Represent Tupelo Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Diogo Light from Porto Alegre, Brazil, represents Tupelo, Mississippi, as the 2015 Tupelo Elvis Tribute Artist Winner. He was a Top 5 finalist in the 2013 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest and is proud to represent the birthplace of Elvis Presley in this year's competition.


Michael Chambliss

To Represent LakeGeorge.com Elvis Festival's Ultimate ETA Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Michael Chambliss is a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. His roots are firmly planted in Southern Gospel music, having been a long-time member of the Cumberland Quartet and the New Life Gospel Quartet. He has also performed with the Gaither Family. He has appeared at the Pierce Arrow Theater in Branson and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. He is the 2014 Images of the King World Champion. Michael is currently making regular appearances at Legends in Concert in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and various venues throughout the South.


Josh Davis

To Represent IP Casino's Ultimate ETA Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Josh Davis is from Sulphur Springs, Texas, and became an Elvis fan at a very early age. He grew up listening to Elvis as his father would play Elvis around the house. He says it's a life's dream to be a part of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. His favorite Elvis song is "Unchained Melody."


Ben Thompson

To Represent Branson Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Ben Thompson is from London, England and has been an Elvis fan since he was three years old. He started his tribute to Elvis over six years ago but also has interest in the martial arts. Ben says it's an absolute pleasure to be a part of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest and it simply means the world to him to be a part of it. Ben's favorite Elvis song is "If I Can Dream."


Tim Hendry

To Represent Georgia Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Tim is very honored and proud to be representing the 2015 Georgia Elvis Festival as its Grand Champion. Tim grew up watching Elvis movies and concerts. He became a huge Elvis fan at a young age because of the influence of his late father, Diamond Jim. He considers it an absolute honor and privilege to pay tribute to the greatest entertainer of all time, Elvis Presley. Tim has many favorite Elvis songs but his all-time favorite is "How Great Thou Art."


Daisuke Kiryu

To Represent Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest of Japan during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Daisuke Kiryu is from Akita, Japan and was inspired to become an Elvis Tribute Artist from watching Elvis’ unique actions and movements on stage. Daisuke is excited about the challenge of competing in the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest and also representing his country of Japan. His favorite Elvis song is “The Wonder of You."


David Allen

To Represent Sugar Creek Casino's Ultimate ETA Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

David has been performing as an Elvis tribute artist for 15 years. He has ranked in the top 10 during the Ultimate ETA Contest since 2011 and during that time has had the chance to perform for Legends in Concert Myrtle Beach. David’s biggest inspiration and love for Elvis stems from his father. David is honored to be a part of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest for a 4th time and takes great pride in helping keep Elvis’ memory alive. David’s favorite song is “If I Can Dream.”


Aaron Barbara 

To Represent Celebrating Elvis' Ultimate ETA Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Aaron Barbara is from Naxxar, Malta, and grew up watching Elvis movies. Aaron is thrilled to be a part of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Elvis Contest and cannot wait to be in Memphis to meet all of the other semifinalists. His favorite Elvis songs are "American Trilogy" and "Sound of Your Cry."


Dwight Icenhower

To Represent Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City's Ultimate ETA Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Dwight Icenhower began his career 17 years ago as a junior in

high school performing in a high school musical. Since then, Dwight has traveled around the world with his tribute to Elvis Presley. Dwight’s mother introduced him to Elvis’ music at a very young age and has loved him ever since. He says being a tribute artist is a dream come true and to be recognized for my tribute is a real honor. His favorite Elvis song is “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” 


Matt King

To Represent Kansas Star Casino Ultimate ETA Contest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Matt King is from Leslie, Michigan. He was only 14 y ears old when he began paying tribute to the King of Rock 'n' Roll. Matt has performed all over the country, including recreating Elvis' last concert in the same place where Elvis performed, in Rapid City, South Dakota. His favorite Elvis song is "My Way."


Frank Werth

To Represent Harrah's North Kansas City Competition during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Frank has been influenced by many great artists such as Roy Orbison, Karen Carpenter, Charlie Rich, the Jackson Five and, of course, Elvis Presley. "Don't Be Cruel" was the first song he ever heard and it made a huge impact on his life and left the greatest impression on his musical career. He says that being an ETA has been a way for him to thank Elvis for everything he has ever done for him. Frank's favorite Elvis song is "He Touched Me."


Pat Dunn

To Represent Foxwoods Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest by Legends in Concert during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Pat is no stranger to the stage. Performing in his first NYC production at the age of 12, he now has the honor of performing in different music productions around the world. He considers being an ETA one of the most difficult facets of performing - and the most rewarding. Pat participated in his first festival in 2013 and said it was a life-changing experience that got him hooked. His favorite Elvis song is "An American Trilogy."


David Lee 

To Represent Ocean City Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

David Lee is from Birmingham, Alabama. Almost 20 years ago, a co-worker turned him on to some of Elvis’ more obscure music. He started listening more and more to Elvis’ music and became a big fan. He says it is an honor to be part of such a prestigious event paying tribute to the one and only King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. His favorite Elvis songs are “Promised Land” and “Unchained Melody.”


Doug Church 

To Represent Indiana's Elvis Fantasy Fest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

Doug started out his career in the Air Force in annual contests and won eleven first place awards in four years. He says being a tribute artist allows him to keep Elvis' memory alive through his music. His favorite Elvis song is "Burning Love."


Jim Barone

To Represent South Carolina Elvis Fest during Semifinal Round in Memphis

As a teenager, Jim heard Elvis perform "Return to Sender" and became an instant fan. Jim's career began with a  simple request by his uncle to perform at an oldies show - and this laid the foundation for a career as a professional ETA. Jim says it is an honor to perform in Elvis' hometown and have the opportunity to present his music to other Elvis fans from around the world. His favorite Elvis song is "Are You Lonesome Tonight?"


James Gibb

To Represent Tweed Tribute to Elvis Festival during Semifinal Round in Memphis

James is from Harrow, Ontario and got hooked on Elvis when he saw Kurt Russell in the movie "Elvis" and watched Elvis' "Aloha from Hawaii" TV special. He started his tribute to Elvis in 2006 at the Windsor Elvis Festival. James says being part of the contest means everything to him. His favorite Elvis song is "Don't Be Cruel."
