New Gates of Graceland - The Jungle Room Sessions

In 1976, Elvis Presley turned the Jungle Room, his den at Graceland, into a recording studio. On this month's Gates of Graceland episode, Graceland Director of Archives Angie Marchese and host Tom Brown discuss Elvis' legendary Jungle Room sessions, take a look at a few artifacts from the sessions and hear from one of the recording engineers. Remembering Scotty Moore

Scotty Moore, Elvis' first guitar player, died on Tuesday, June 28.  Elvis met Scotty and bass player Bill Black in July 1954 at the request of Sam Phillips. Trumpeter Wayne Jackson, a member of the Memphis Horns, died on Tuesday, June 21. Wayne, who formed the Memphis Horns with saxophonist Andrew Love, played on Elvis hits like "In the Ghetto" and "Suspicious Minds."
