Welcome to the official blog of Elvis Presley’s Graceland! You can take Elvis-inspired quizzes, get first-looks on events here at Graceland and how-to guides on everything you need to know about Elvis and his home. Like Elvis, we come with a little southern charm
It's a partnership made in rock 'n' roll heaven: Elvis Presley's Graceland has partnered with Live Nation, the world's largest concert promoter, to bring you Graceland Live - live concerts at Graceland!
The shows aren't actually on the mansion grounds - but they are just steps away, at the Graceland Soundstage at Elvis Presley's Memphis entertainment and exhibit complex (across the street from the mansion) and The Guest House at Graceland Theater at the hotel nearby.
We have announced the first 10 acts that will perform here, and tickets are on sale now at GracelandLive.com. More on those in a bit - let's get to know the first two acts on our roster.
Bret Michaels, legendary Poison frontman, is performing during Graceland's Military Appreciation Weekend - a perfect pairing!
Graceland's Military Appreciation Weekend is March 23-24, and the Bret Michaels concert is at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 23. The weekend not only honors the 61st anniversary of Elvis' induction into the U.S. Army, but it gives Graceland a chance to salute our active and retired military, veterans and Shelby County First Responders. Michaels is the son of a veteran and loves to salute the troops.
Michaels has sold more than 35 million records worldwide - both solo and with Poison - and has starred on reality shows like "Rock of Love," "The Apprentice" and "Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It." Some of Poison's biggest hits include "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "Nothin' But a Good Time," "Unskinny Bop," "Something to Believe In" and "Talk Dirty to Me." In the coming weeks, he'll release a new single, "Unbroken," which is a duet with his daughter Jorja.
Off the stage and screen, Michaels is an entrepreneur, and he's created the multi-million dollar selling Pets Rock Collection with PetSmart, launched his own line of custom guitars and created “Bret’s Blend, Diet Trop-A-Rocka” which is a number one selling beverage for Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group.
Michaels is a type 1 diabetic and, personally and through his Life Rocks Foundation, has helped raise millions of dollars for charity and makes donations to not only diabetes awareness and research but to causes such as childhood cancer, PetSmart Charities, Operation Homefront, Fealgood Foundation and more.
A tireless performer and businessman, Michaels has been on the road for each of the last 10 years, for nearly 300 live performances, speaking engagements, charitable concerts and private engagements.
The Military Appreciation Weekend features patriotic and family-friendly events, and you can see the full schedule at Graceland.com/Military. Tickets to the Bret Michaels show are free (plus fees) to active and retired military, veterans and Shelby County First Responders. General admission tickets are $49.50/advance, $60/day of show, plus fees.
